I think the lighting is pefect. His hands stand out clearly and they are an artist's hands. I love the rain splatters on the ground and the rust textures on the wall. The graffiti adds an element of realness to the whole scene. There's much emotion in his body posture. Well done!

Yeah, some bits look a little uniform. From the title and thumb I thought it was a tennis racket he was holding though ;)

Lots of emotive elements here... very nicely done. My question about the lighting, specifically the shadows, would be why are the shadows so crisp if it's raining? Wouldn't the shadows be more diffused because it's overcast? The rain drop spatters are a nice touch, but they are a bit too uniform and repetitive. May I suggest adding a pool of surface water and more variations in the rain spatters.

There is clearly more going on here than rain spoiling this man's jam session, and your render illustrates that. I don't need to add anything about the lighting since you have some good critiques here already. I am guilty of uniformity myself usually, because I am too eager to just render it. What I can suggest if you do a re-work is to add some garbage strewn about. Maybe a bag of trash spilling over the trashcan. There are some decent trash decals out there (I think for free) as one option to render out on a plane primitive.

The fact that it is pouring, and he remains curled up on the bench with his guitar pulls a heart-string.
