Description
Well, we've been looking at fake Japanese Chinese Gardens in San Antonio. How about a trip to see the real thing in situ?
These are scans of BW images (obviously) which I took while stationed in Japan in 1969-1970. Sankei-en Gardens are in Yokohama. Usually I went for less cultural activities, but enough of that.
This was printed on heavy stock matte paper of some sort. I prised it from an album where it was stuck, literally, for quite a few years now.
Camera was a cheap, I do mean cheap, Petri range-finder. A friend got me interested in photography and it was fun. Wish I'd kept all the negatives. I did not make prints of everything I shot, but now I'd be able to scan the suckers and clean them up. This was cleaned with intellihance and a few other PP9 tricks.
Enjoy; thanks for viewing.

oh wow wees... this is great stuff!! cleaned up nicely, thanks for showing this, i look fwd to seeing more of them :]
Forgot to mention. The boat is sunken in very shallow water. I guess that was their technique to make sure it STAYED in the most picturesque spot and did not go floating all over the place screwing up the 'feng shui' or whatever they have in Japan.
It's a beautiful picture. Cheap cameras often give good results (with a bit of luck)
I was just in San Antonio. They have fake Japanese gardens?
Yes, 'feng shui' is very important...and it is all about balance...I like the balance you portray in this image! But my own house would flunk the feng shui test...
