Description
"It is a far, far better thing that I do, than I have ever done; it is a far, far better rest that I go to than I have ever known." -- A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens
With these words, at the hour of his meeting with "la guillotine", Sidney Carton redeemed a life misspent and wasted, found within himself a love, a compassion, and a bravery which no one, including himself, had deemed possible, had risen above the slovenly, lethargic, and indulgent creature he was to shine as a hero. And, within his transformation is contained the hope that society, too, can finally rise above itself and prove it's existence to have been of value.

SUPERB!!! You've really added even more depth to these classic lines and I love the POV! Very dramatic scene and so well done! Bravo Paul!!!!
Yes, it is very dramatic! Wonderful scence and the pov is perfect for this scene!!
Magificent POV, atmosphere and scene! Great expression on the character! BRAVO!! V
You have created a very great scene,Ilove your POV And his expression great work!!
Powerful, Paul....Adrian is the perfect character for this "role". I love the POV you chose. It's always seemed strange that the guillotine was actually invented to have a more "humane" way of killing someone.
..."the hope that society, too, can finally rise above itself and prove it's existence to have been of value." After the events in Russia "society" seems to be really worthless at this moment!... Magnificent! Perfectly composed image Paul and the light hitting the guilliotine is a superbe touch! :)
fantastic artwork! uve done a wonderful job!
Great POV! As the citizens of that time would wait for hours to see the guilotine at work! And wondeful words. Well done, my friend!! And v
