I exaggerated to size of the rose on purpose, to show it's fullness and detail.

I like a lot of this; the colors used, the texture, and rendering of the objects. But, like you said, the rose is large. Just curious- why didn't you just compose the image so the rose would be larger without having to exaggerate? Anyway, very nice job ;)

One of those mistakes of already being to far into the painting, liking what I had done so farwith the vase, ledge and background--I didn't want to have a tiny rose...Just improper planning. These are the mistakes we learn from.
I have seen roses about this size, and they are unusual, but lovely. So it's a small vase? I wish my mistakes were so lovely...haha. I like it.
