Description
(First I would like to thank everyone who has supported me in my endeavor to share my writings and secondly to encourage those, and you know who you are, also gifted with pen and ink, to share!)
Pain, deep down inside pain
the kind that grabs hold onto your heart
and squeezes all the joy out of it until
nothing is left but a void.
So here I go again
I can never let it show
I thought I had found someone
that I was free enough with
to let all the masks I wore peel off
one by one and fall to the ground below.
But, no, I have to pick them all up again
and resume my role as an actress.
I cannot blame him though
he's been my joy for many seasons
and now he needs strength.
My weaknesses only create conflict
and I have lost the respect
I now believe I never had
the very thing I need from him.
It's better not to love
the pain it brings
makes you weak in the eyes of others.
Strength is everything--no matter what
the sacrifice
do not count the cost
and above all never show
how you really feel...for
Power without Control is Nothing.

Great poem, I know that feeling exactly, you wrote so well about it, it felt almost like my own thoughts.
wow, that's powerful, and a lot of people could relate to that, excellent work
Wow! Absolutely fantastic! You've captured such raw feeling and power in this piece. Excellent pose and poetry!
So sorry I missed this! Stupid e-bots...grrrr!! Aside from my total disatisfaction with the powers that be to get that problem fixed, I am so glad I got to read this...as I can totally associate with every single word of it...Absolutely excellent!!!!
A compelling and interesting read, and I understand your avoidance of vulnerability: though I would personally prefer to chance pain than miss out on possible joy through too much control. Thanks for exercising my brain as well as my aesthetics!
Powerful writing. You nailed the pain, and with that kind of pain always comes anger, and the need to not be hurt again. And one who feels that deeply can never really have total control. Heartfelt work. I really liked how your title showed up in your last sentence. :o) CC
That's a disturbing female side of love.
