Description
Taken on the outskirts of Punxutawny,PA. It's hard to believe that these people refuse to live in the modern era of electricity, telephones, etc., but what do you expect...they're Amish!!! Thanks for looking!!! :)

I live in Mount Joy,Pa see'em every day.......this is cool
I'm ready to get a horse and buggy with the price of gas and cost of upkeep on the new fangled contraptions called 'cars' . . . great idea. Just feed him, and he goes. :o)
Wow .. fabulous shot. The angle is perfect and the whole scene is really remarkable. Wonderful picture!!
I want one of those! To heck with the cars. . . all they do is break down, anyways. Everyone should have that. Let's get rid of the dependence on petroleum, and show those OPEC people a thing or two. Fool them! :-) Ha!
Have you ever been for a buggy ride? It is so soothing and peaceful. I love doing that. :)
That buggy driver is looking for a ticket!...aren't they sposed to have one of those three sided reflective signs attached someplace on those things? It's the law in Indiana!...great pic!
Nice to know these pockets of tradition still thrive. Very nice shot! :)
They won't be a drain to the oil reserves anyway, they don't produce so much exhaust gases, they don't produce so many garbage, they don't make so much noise. Hm, that bad isn't their lifestyle and they have found ways to live still in their oldfashioned style, that's quite an achievement! Great shot, love the composition of it!
a throwback to the past... great shot!! :]
JC said it all ;o) Compliments, Richard!
Well, I've never been kicked, bitten, or thrown by a car. Never found an Amish 'elder' out of high school on my front step hoping to convert me either.
I admire their dedication to their beliefs and their 'live n let live' attitude. Not enough of that going around.
an excellent shot. great reportage character. !!!!!!!! #:O) !!!!!!!!!
beautiful, clean, and shining. amazing pic :)
