looks good! a little motion blur wouldn't hurt ; )
Kolossal mistake : the 109 fires its MK108 through the nose and the guns are on top, not in the wing. But great picture, did you model the aircraft yourself ?

hmm..yeah, read his autobiography..he did shoot most of his kills in Russia, though..his favorite tactic was just to come barrelling in nose-to-nose..great modeling..

I think too much blur kills detail ;-) -Dickbill: you are partialy right ;-) This is a 109 G10, the Mk108 were in the nose and in the wings near the cockpit like in this case. I did it to fire only the cannons on the wings ;-)
I like your style, Guillermo. Just curious, how many lights did you set-up for this render?
The P-38 had a one to one exchange ratio in Europe. In that way it was like the final accounting of the F-4 "Phantom-II" in Viet Nam. I read Adolph Gallant's book. Your image is very dramatic in presenting something in a closed space and is like many other aviation pix. Without an actual photograph or at least Hartmann's gun camera film to set up the geometry I would estimate he will collide with the wreck unless it explodes before he pentrates it. Herbst is gone now and I cannot argue with him any more about MIG 29's and "cobra manuevers". More women was my conclusion. Whiffle...the glass darkens again and I am gone.
arata: Thanks ;-) I just used one light, I played with Ambient light better than use radiosity. - Tallpindo: Maybe another pilot would collide with the other plane at this distance, that happened too many times. Hartmann used to say: "I like to wait until the plane ocupies my front glass, shoot a quick burst with cannons and go up inmedialtly" ;-)
I don't know anything about the pilot you're illustrating. But I like P-38s too much to like this picture. ;P
