Description

After all those cacti, I thought I should post something a little softer. I thought to myself, "What could be softer than a fuzzy kitty?" Not a whole lot. This is my wife's cat Freddy (Fred). He is a very loving cat, but also pretty brain dead. He doesn't run away when he should and thus gets mauled by my son all the time. He never scratches though so he must have a sweet disposition. This is him in our garden being good just before feeding time. Freddy was kind enough to sit still while I took this and a few other photos of him. As many of you may have just heard, Ronald Reagan just passed away after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. I found him to be one of the most liked presidents during my lifetime and his passing has added meaning for me because 3 of my grandparents had Alzheimer's. It is a tough illness on the person and the family, and frankly I'm surprised he lasted as long as he did. Because of Freddy's mental disposition, I thought I would dedicate this image to our late former American President. Rest in Peace Ronnie (1911-2004). Today is also the lowest tides the world has experienced in 19 years! Pretty amazing that every 19 years, all 36 factors that effect the earth's tides combine to make the tides there lowest. So if you are near the ocean, go check it out. Maybe you'll see (and be able to photograph) some sealife you normally would never be exposed to. What has that got to do with a portrait of a cat? Absolutely nothing. Have a great weekend. ;^] Olympus C-3030z

Im not an American but i think Reagan was indeed the most likeable president, i can remember him being on tv when i was a kid. Its very kind of you to dedicate this wonderful portrait to him. Excellent shot by the way, love it ! Interesting info about the tide, thanks :o)

Great tribute to the former actor that has ruled your country! It is also good to realise what Alzheimer means for people concerned with this disease!

Nothing like a fuzzy kitty to make everyone happy! He looks like he's sunbathing. Ronnie was the best for sure.
