An image and some words that came to me for my fractal slammin', gitbox jammin' bud, Mike - who's father passed away a couple weeks ago....

Sea of Eternity
When at long last life-force dims
And loved one's souls are called to leave us
Be assured this is not some capricious whim
This seeming end that so sorely grieves us
For they are called home at our Maker's behest
To a place of peace, of love...of rest
Odd it seems, how an old friend's passing
Stirs long lost memories of times together
Remember him always - smiling, laughing
For as long as you do, he lives forever
We come into this world by our Maker's leave
We live, we love, we learn...we leave
From father to son to son to brother
From mother to daughter to sister to mother
One's essence lives on and on, you see
Ever widening ripples on an eternal sea
