Description

Sorry for the size of this image, but I actually trimmed this down from an even larger size. I could have cropped closer to the bee(s), but I really like the DOF and background. So here is the compostition I decided on. I came arcross this rather large cactus just as its flowers were starting to open. Bees were hard at work collecting pollen, as you can see by heavily laden legs of the one in the air above the flower. I carefully positioned myself and was able to get this neat action photo. I'll post more shots of this amazing cactus in the coming days. Does anyone know what kind it is, just from this small glimpse? Thanks for viewing and your comments! Olympus C-3030z

Awesome shot. It's great how you caught the one in flight. As for the cactus, I'm guessing Prickly Pear because of the flat leaf-like segments.

You are right, cropping would not have done much good. Wonderful shot.
