Dear Diary,
I like being happy.
Yeah, yeah...not a big realization on my part, it's not like I'm a masochist or anything. But still, happiness is the reason to live, I think. Without it, what the hell is life supposed to be? Happiness, in reality, is the essence of the human existence. Without happiness, there is no morale, and lack of morale will make you go insane. Insanity will kill you eventually. So there's my theory of the day...happiness = life, remember that. Note to self: Never be unhappy, I don't wanna die.
I also really enjoy Italian food, but that's beside the point.
Anyway, in other news, my second book is going pretty well. I'm on either page two or three, chapter one...I'm just anxious to get the first one published. I want to know that it's done and out there. Marketing is another issue. Hell, who knows? I'll just go door to door...HA! That'd be something, wouldn't it? "Hi, you don't know me, but my name is Summer and I'm a young author. Wanna buy my book? C'mon, you know you do. Just one book, c'mon. Buy it in support of a prodigy writer out there. Please? I'll pay you."
The day I do that is the day the world ends, the fat lady sings, and I get married. Ha, none of which is happening very soon, if ever.
Anyway, diary, it's getting pretty late and I'm tired. I had a long, wonderful evening will a guy friend of mine, who I think is just wonderful. I mean, really, really wonderful...

you are right, there is no life without happiness, and if you cannot do something without being satisfied with it or happy with it, what would be the point?

Sadness is merely a counterpoint to happiness - I don't think you can truely appreciate the one without having some experience of the other: with both there is life and a reason for living. The key is to live life to the full whatever it throws at you. Good thought-provoking piece - I think I'll continue to read on ....
