Description
First of all apologies to those who are gona go eeeeeeeeeekssss after viewing this.
Credit for this post goes to my dear wife Deepa for having helped me with this thing till the end. Two of these centipedes were in our washer alongwith the cloth. She did see something moving in the cloth when she put it in the washer. I just happen to mention her that, if possible don't harm it and capture it alive. She believed me and did it..... it was virtually crawling on her hands when she dipped her hands in the washer to move the cloths.........they were desperate to jump out I guess. Anyway, she maintained her calm and let them loose again into the wash tub filled with detergent water and went and got this plastic jar... took a wooden stick eased them one by one into the jar........ the first one was too quick... it jumped and with me standing just next to her I jumped on it and spuash it was gone. The other one was far luckier and it survived for me to admire it to the fullest. Had it not been for Deepa, I would have never dared this.............. I easily go eeeeeeeeeeeeeeks when I see creepy crawly.
Thanks for viewing and your comments.

Oooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ****Vj!!!
wow..its creepy and cool!!!
Eeeeeeeewww :).
Wow this is absolutely fabulous and the closest I ever want to be to a bug with this many legs! LOL
reminds me of the Creepy Crawlers I used to make as a kid.. only they weren't real! They were somekind of rubbery stuff...lol
Lol, such an adventure. =) Wonderful capture.. these guys can be fun to watch.. but the millipedes are even better ;)
woaooooooooooooooooooo (this is not eeeeeekkksss) I'm as many, afraid of insects, but also fascinated by them.. A great action of you and Deepa to save this splendid animal... And BTW, a great shot !
What an adveture... your wifey is very brave! I'm afraid I wasn't that brave... get a shiver seeing them. Great shot, Raj! Bravo!
Great capture! I'm not overly fond of these critters myself. When I lived in Hawaii they were all over the place and sometimes a foot long! Their sting was quite painful too. But still, you have to appreciate them for their insect nature and cool body design. Thanks for sharing your story.
aah...excellent macro, and I love the signature too !
excellent macro, but I hope I NEVER have to see one of these upclose and in person.
Magistral! Beautiful shot and great colour.
Great shot, wonderful colors.....

Great macro shot. We have bazillions of these creepy crawlers here, but I have to admit to not wanting to hunt them out to photograph them. brave team you are.

Eeeeeeeeeeek! Would not want to find this in my washer that is for sure but an excellent macro you got of this creepy! :)
we have some similar to these... very long, about the length of your hand... a head on each end... & poisonous... seriously! :]
Great shot and excellent subject, this animal (scolopendre in french) is same family of scorpios !!! Be care, it give very painful bite !
Some of these have a nasty bite! So a great "dangerous" job you did :)
Beautiful capture!
I do adore transparent bugies!! :)
brrrrrrrr yes this is greeeepy don't let this thing walk over my leg.......hahahah but which leg??? Just kidding
Much respect to Deepa! What a devoted wife! You know, in Russian we call bravery "a male thing" (something like "malery"), and sometimes I wonder why... women are so much deserved a praise for their bravery compared to men :-)
oh ick...I viewed this during my lunch break! haha. Good work you brave souls!
