Description

Leaving the red dwarf star of Proxima Centauri behind, The UNESS Carl Anderson proceeds towards Alpha Centauri A and Alpha Centauri B. Do to increasing gravitational fluctuations from the two primary stars of this trinary star system, the navigation computers have increasingly had to make short duration corridor control burns to stay on course. 47 days into the mission to recon the Alpha Centauri system, the ship intercepted a radio signal with a duration of 1 minute 8 seconds. The signal repeated 11 times over the next 32 minutes. The last 4 repeats were increasingly distorted. Using the ship's position at the beginning of the radio intercept and the position for the final intercept, it was detirmined that the signal came from the direction of the star system known as Gamma Cephei which is 41 light years away. After conferring with space command via sub space radio vehicle, Captain Jacoby ordered a course plotted for Gamma Cephei and ordered the crew to prepare for sub space entry. The full survey of Alpha Centauri would have to be delayed All Bryce Sun map from Planet Portal. This is the 11th picture of this story line. If you are interested in the entire story line of this series, enter my gallery and start with Maiden Voyage of Revolutionary Propulsion System. If there is interest, I'll continue the series past the 4 additional ideas I have in mind. Thanks for taking a look :o)

Oh, I don't think you have to worry about the interest, guy. It's there. This work is first class (as all in this series are). A most excellent series. I'm always pleased when I learn a new one has been posted, and my anticipation of it has never been disappointed. Thanks for that kind of artistic consistency. One small thing. Isn't one of the Alpha Centauri stars quite a bit smaller than the other?

My VOTE for this ... and definately for continuing this series - hopefully far beyond only four ... I agree with every word Jeremy wrote as well. You have a winner ... and absolutely the talent and ability to hold interest by many for a long while.

kjer_99 is correct. Proxima Centauri is quite a bit smaller than the other two. Alpha Centauri A and Alpha Centauri B are a little larger than our sun :o)
