however simple this may or not be, the equally simple fact is that it engages the viewer... yes, art is subjective, but for me, art exists if it engages a reaction on an emotive level or i find myself trying to relate to it in some fashion... art is not about how complex a thing is, how pretty your postwork might be, etc... art asks you to find a piece of yourself in it as you view it - or at least these are my beliefs, and this is quite engaging...
Wow, I love the reaction this piece evoked in me. I was drawn here by reading the locked thread in community center and I had to see the image for myself. How shockingly evocative! Seeing it brought to mind a drawing class in college - one of the lessons was to draw the simplest shape with the strongest 'message'. I love this, just looking at it is wonderfully settling. Thank you!
