Description
Used about 12 terrains to create the storm-tossed waves. I had a person who claimed that was obvious and that he could see the edge of the "terrain." I have exaggerated the waves for effect--at least the four closest. One of these days, I'll add some crew running about, but the picture is fairly small, so am not sure having them would add that much. The rain texture is my own. The ship was a Net freebie.

Thanks for looking!

Looking great. The only thing I think is wrong is the use of sail in this kind of weather. I think the wind would have ripped the sail appart in a storm like this.
Yup, they would take the sails down in a storm like that. Better to ride it out. The sea is pretty good, but could still use some work. Some of your tallest waves still look more like Bryce mountains than waves. You might want to check out some of the tutorials about making more realistic waves (you replicate and tilt the terrains so that the wave has a curved look ... and I think adding some metaball spray might be a good idea.
Very well done! Good composition, texturing, and rendering! :)
Waves look like ice. Ship looks like it is trapped in the ice....tone it down a little, add some spray blowing off the wave tops and it should look a little better.
Beau travail. Ficitations !
Lots of good, helpful comments. Thanks, everybody!
This looks like one WILD ride :o)
great image...a stuning work!
