i had just done the tutorial here http://www.newtek.com/products/lightwave/tutorials/specialfx/volumetric_fire/volumetric_fire.html for the second time, because i couldn't remember how to do the volumetric fire thingy, and then i was just messing around with different procedural textures for the fire.
there's an animation that goes with this if anyone wants it.
i intended this to be my new desktop wallpaper, but i don't really like it. the eyes don't look as cool as i would have liked them to :p
model is from 3DCafe. the eyes are as far as i got in the lady-modelling chapter of dan ablan's book :)

Looks like an evil god, about to rain terror down upon those he calls enemy. Very neat! I love the background. Nice effect on the eyes as well. Funny how you set out to do one thing and end up with something else, huh? nice job man.
Looks good, the lighting effects are done very well... my only suggestions would be to revisit the skin textures (a bit too procedural) and perhaps crank the anti-aliasing up a bit. :o)
Is he suppose to be emerging from the light? Nice Image, but I don't 'get' it
