Description

After working all day on school stuff, I rewarded myself with a ride in the moor country in my antique Stege sports car, as always, accompanied by my charming companion. Unfortunately, we took a wrong turn and the road turned into a track, then into a path, and then petered out. We saw the house on the hill, but when we walked up there, hoping to get directions, we discovered that it was deserted. Disappointed, we returned to the car. By now, my companion was less delightful as she kept harping about how I should have stopped and asked that farmer, two hours back, for directions. She was right, but by then I was too annoyed with her to admit it. We got back in the car and tried to go back the way we had come. But it was getting dark and the mist was beginning to rise. We drove through the mists and darkness for several more hours, until the car ran out of gas. We spotted another house on a distant rise, really just a dark rectangular lump on the horizon. There were no lights, but having no other recourse, I started up the hill. My companion wasn't about to stay behind. She hurried after me. We got about halfway up the rise before we realized it was the same deserted house we'd seen earlier. We'd circled back. Discouraged, we trudged back to the car to await the dawn. I hope morning comes soon. The mist has thickened. The full moon makes the mist glow. We are surrounded by light, but can't see anything more than a couple of yards around us. Some creature has been howling every once in a while. It's cries sound closer each time it cries out. We sit in the car, clinging to each other, waiting. Stege sports car downloaded from 3D Cafe. Figures made in Poser 4. Everything else is made in Bryce 5. I added working headlights to the car. I'm not too happy with the grass in the foreground, either.

Glad the house was empty ... lots of men been harmed by asking directions. The way I figure it - if she really wants to know SHE can go to old houses in the middle of nowhere and see if anyone is home. He can sit back and wait to be a hero - a live one. hehehe.
