Description
Tussock Grass. Without this tough little plant, most sand dunes, and some sand beaches would not exist. It grows down almost to the high water mark. Its roots anchor the dunes, and wind swept beaches, and the foliage breaks up the straight run of the wind. Without this plant, our rare sand beaches would be back in the trees somewhere.

LOL Tedz!.... Another fantastic Northwestern pic garnite :) You sure have a knack for showing the true beauty of the region we call home. I must get out of the house and snap somemore shots myself.......thanks for reminding me. :)
Excellent idea for this shot, very well presented !
Great composition works well, love the colours
Would you like to try this from a lower POV? Don't get me wrong Jim, it's just an idea, but i think, this wonderful shot could be interesting with some more water in the background?
Really love this composition with a wonderful light and beautiful colours. Excellent presentation,Jim!
Beautiful picture
What wonderful colors, front to back...dune grass here serves the same purpose. Although our sand beaches are mayhaps less rare, they are nonetheless precious and so easily erroded... Delightful image as we are about to plunge into single digit temps on the Eastern coast!
Excelent picture Garnite . Also this is a very good example of the power of the nature. Nature is very well done. No one can beat it. Thanks for sharing :] !!!!:O)!!!!
Superb capture of this tough plant. Wonderful light and lovely array of seashells scattered throughout the seashore. :)
Brings to mind the song by David Bowie from the 80's..."Wild is the Wind". Cause and effect in the end...man buggers up and nature restores...as always.
very nice contrast & detail, interesting tidbit of info, thanks :]
Very, very pretty!! Colors are beautiful!
good work man. for all of the above reasons and just for the simple fact that i love it.
Tussock grass? We have sea grape, sea oats and dune grass. The glue that holds it all together. Might be interesting to have a beach in the woods!? LOL! NOT! Beautiful color!
