Great Work, like the expression on the face, the feel of the image, and the transition between the lower half and upper half. The only thing that sticks out at me is, I'm not sure the band of dark water on the bottom edge helps the composition or not. Nice Job in any event.

Not sure I agree with droyd. I think the dark blue at the bottom of the ocean balances out the darker blue of the sky, so I like it.:o) Wonderful image, full of emotion and motion. Love his expression and those bulging veins, and the ships on the turbulent waves are stunning. Very gorgeous work. :o)

:-) - thank you all for your comments - and a special thanks to droyd, as i have the same oppinion, i dont like the dark band at the bottom, but as it is an illustration for a cover, and thats the place where the title has to be, i had to do this dark band - whish clients would hear more what artists have to say ;-) - lol - thanks for the comment droyd, be sure i will show it the client :-) - but you know client is king - ha haha - thanks

Those ships are indeed outstanding! They are tedious to draw with all that rigging, too--I did scrimshaw for a company long ago and I know good ships when I see them;-) And looking at the thumbnail I think the dark band at the bottom is fine--it may not have been your first choice, but you got it to work. And of course your colors are always splendid!
