Description
Here, my prize, the Black Widow. Isn't she lovely?.. and so deadly. Her kiss is fifteen times as poisonous as that of the rattlesnake. You see her venom is highly neurotoxic, which is to say that it attacks the central nervous system causing intense pain, profuse sweating, difficulty in breathing, loss of consciousness, violent convulsions and, finally... death. You know what I think I love the most about her is her inborn need to dominate, to possess. In fact, immediately after the consummation of her marriage to the smaller and weaker male of the species she kills and eats him - *laugh* oh, she is delicious.. and I hope he was! Such power and dignity - unhampered by sentiment. If I may put forward a slice of personal philosophy, I feel that man has ruled this world as a stumbling demented child-king long enough! And as his empire crumbles, my precious Black Widow shall rise as his most fitting successor!

Absolutely beautiful! Talk about girl power, huh? :))))))))) She's gorgeous and the capture is perfect, Matt. Love the web and the way her body came out all shiny and really black, and love your new 'frame' too! Very cool work :)))
she's a real dominatrix! Fantastic capture Matt :-))
While living in Tucson I had one crawl up my pant leg and do it's deed !!!!! - Oh what a feeling :<( - Brings back well ... - Nice picture can I squash it now -
Nice, but feel the need to splatt.....
Sounds like someone admires these creepy crawlies.. I agree with PapaG, want to squish it. We have way too many of them here, but they hide so well. Anyways, great shot! Love the thin webs and the colors =)
Yuck, what a horrible creature. Great shot though :-)
Drea has provided my thoughts exactly... outstanding shot... gross creature!
She's Lovely Indeed!
great compo. excellent presented. !!!!!! :O) !!!!
Great picture, I hope you were using a big zoom taking this one (or that there were a glass between you two)
Everything is said to herself, so i'd like to add, that your "framing" looks good. Creative new way .. at least to me ;). Keep some distance please, i'd like to see more of your work :))
oh my u trully exceeded your self my friend, what a fabulous shot, look how perfect she is, u caught her right on spot!!!
I met a Black Widow once ...through the Personal Colunm...She had run out of Lover's ...sigh...but once She bit into Me...My Nuerotoxicallititty....caused Her to curl up into a wee Fur Ball....like the type a Cat may dislodge, whilst Liiiiiiiiiicking itself. Great Shot Man....and Vinnie Price is My Hero swoon..."Men! Stand Up against Spiders"!!!
Incredible picture. Old Vincent kind of overdoes it's power, one woman in Naramata was bitten three times in one summer (she moved). This has to be the definitive picture of a black widow though, congratulations.
God, how I hate spiders:( However this is photographic brillance!! Excellent work, Matt!!
Ecellent shot, scary lady Matt. Ya girlfriend eh? Brrr.
I catch and kill about 30-40 of these a Summer in my garage. I hate these little bitches but at least we don't have Funnel Web Spiders here in the states.
Simply love her - she's beautiful!
Wonderful shot and also your words. Please don't splatt it! But i think, they don't eat everytime the male. Sometimes the male is faster or know the rhythm of here, so he can escaped. Beauty can blind you, but that's the nature! Human Black Widows are already excist. And i love the challenge. That's nature! And maybe i survive or will be eaten!. That's nature! Love nature!!! BTW- We don't have these kind of spiders in our regions.
Canon G3 - 4 times optical zoom with close up lens. Nothing between me and the spider.
Stunning!!! superb photo and presentation...and font.
Wow...
oh, yes indeedy! a fabulous shot & she is to be most revered, have spent much time assisting the Dr. in his office removing necrotic tissue.. super shot, luv your frame & font choice too! :]
Great macro shot, I love shots of spiders (See my "Shelob") black armor and silk, what a combo! Excellent photo man!!!!
