Description
Taken at the Orange County Fair, this is the 'Zipper' ride that I bet a lot of you have seen at your local carnivals/fairs. I had to make the shutter speed pretty fast in order to catch it without much motion, and in doing so I had to also keep in mind that it was night and althought it was brightly lit, it'd still loose enough light coming in to make it show up. Shutter speed was at 1/100.
Camera is a digital Minolta Dimage 7hi (5 MP). This image has been reduced 33% of the original full size that was taken. Auto Focus, custom white balance with a fast shutter speed.

Fabulous! Seeing this image makes me want to model this ride in 3D. Great job!
errrrrrrrrrp! cool shot! luv the lights & POV on this! :]
Hah! I've been on this, or one just like it. Very fun. :) I'm sure they make more on the spilled pocket change than on tickets. And a great shot, I wouldn't have thought it was moving at all, except for the few compartments at angles.
I rode this horrible machine. I remember screaming at the operator to please stop the ride, and let me off. That ride sucks.
Great night-shot. Great color. Great contrast and sharpness. Obivously a fantasic digital camera handled by an expert photographer. Excellent !!!
I'd say you got the settings just right. Excellent, vivid & sharp & dynamic shot! :)
