Description
*Life is a synestesia of too many elements to be caged in a box.To be liveable in a limited space of virtuality. To pretend a partial life can have all flavours, colours, intensity of a complete one that can only take place in real world is like trying to say that it's better to use one or two senses instead of five, and fake that can have the same richness, or even more, of the real thing.Let's be brave. Let's live fully. All the rest is a comforting, but someway pathetic lie.Or fear. And to fear life, as one said once, is to fear living and the one who's fearing to live is already three quartes dead.*

Taken on July 2003, in Rieti, near Rome. Model, Barbara.
Canon IXUS 400, no postwork. Contrasted and balanced with available light.

It was hard to pick up a new image for the photography gallery this time, even more than usual.I wanted to post something descriptive of my state of mind after all thoughts I had after the departure of my Aunt. To have lost her was a pushing in dwelling newly and fully more into reality of life. Pain, sometimes, is useful to appreciate everything living is made of,and more than we use to realize. So this picture tells that.. Life outside is bright indeed. No sufference, no temporary grieving, no pity nor fear can prevent us from being part of the process of living. Outside there's always a day more for hope and happiness. And so a message of hope, is what this picture was meant to show you.Even if you will notice the horizon is a bit swhirling, which is indicative of the feeling of expectation and the vertigo our days can gift, or oppress us with.
Virtual reality, yes, can be good. But the real life, is outside.
I will be again in Rome tomorrow... the pictures out from it will mainly be uploaded in September though... as from 12th of August, I am on holidday, luckely pc-less and .. going to a week of sea too (unexpectedly.. ;)).
But I wil try to come back with millions of nice pictures. Watch out also the forums for them though.. you know I mainly show pics there ;)As all beginners should do!
Enjoy holidays as well if you are gonna have them, if you hadn't, or they are ended, well, tune in with the best vibe anyway for the incoming Fall :) Take care:)

i see dark shiluettes of sorrow, but where my eyes are really went is the light, this light which exudes great confidence - a wonderful photo - uwe
Una fotografia di gran bellezza estetica...!!! la figura nelle ombre ritagliandosi su quello fondo tanto pieno di luce, forme e colori di un gran effetto visuale...!! un lavoro realmente molto bello...!!
Just.....OUTSTANDING!! :):)
What I like about the image is that even though there is an open door, one that leads to the "better life", the main character is still amidst shadows. The solution is is simple: walk through the opening... however, human nature can be a reluctant one when choosing the better option. By the way, I kinda thought the model was barbara right away... but one thing though... is she still wearing her wedding outfit??
Cara Melania come non trovare questa foto piena di emozioni... hai dipinto il tuo stato d'animo in modo esemplare e tutte le tue sensazioni affiorano da questa composizione... bel lavoro Melania ciao Orietta
Great moment You was take. Bautiful colors.
Questa fantastica, Melania. Davvero. Il contrasto tra il buio dentro e la luce fuori cossignificativo del dolore e al tempo stesso cospieno di speranza nel futuro... mi hai commosso davvero.
like all masters of their craft, Meli, you make it look so easy, but there's so much craft hidden in there. Isn't the human eye wonderful? you've captured a big piece of dynamic range in a snap, literally and figuratively - The whole sweep from dark to bright to dark again, from birth to wed, to giving-birth, to death. Another favorite! Have a wonderful voyage and holiday!
This piece really touches me...probably because it speaks so much to the life I have lived or more to the point...not lived, since my second of 3 back surgeries failed, leaving me to deal with a great deal of pain and little recourse to change this immediate path. 3 years ago, I would never have believed the course my life would take and how much I would lose of the 5 senses you spoke of up above. The 3 things that have kept me alive over these past 3 years have been my Lord, my family and my very dear friends here on Renderosity, of which you are so very special to me. You all have no idea how much you have given to me...how you have kept me sane and have given me the desire to fight each and every day to stay in touch with the world. Thank you so very much Meli! You give me strength!...Cheryl
I like it! I especially like contrast between the outside through the open door, and the outside filtered through the glass.
As always, your words add another dimension by which to enter your image...
...quinvece ti stronko un pokino. =) Bella l'idea.
Excellent++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++!
Very wonderful image. Great job!
A wonderful photography, the model in this picture, reminds me, in my introduction, to Lisa Gerrard from "Dead Can dance". Beautiful in the dark and lighting, "beautiful" the despair. (...)
This could have so many meanings. One I percieved is that because the door was open the light is brighter. It creates an illusion of a section of sky gone.Disappeared.You are getting good shots with great focus and exposures.
fabulous shot! mood and light is simply excellent! my fav! my vote goes definitely here ;)
Like a barock-dream. Wish to go outside in this bright day. Ralph
