Description

Haven't been around for a while as I've been working with Vue. But for all it's wonderful landscape work I find it's ability to do DOF awkward so I came back for my Bryce fix. Some of the fruit is from Sylvie and some from 3dCafe. Mats on the green grapes, yellow apple, one pear and the coffee pot/cup are my own. Just trying DOF and and 115 radial lights. Over 7 days to render....NEVER AGAIN! Thanks for stopping by.

All Rooty !! Nice one. Were you able to get the translucency of the grape skins,......can't tell because of the DOF blurring. That's something I've never been able to get right,......the damn grape skins,.......it's even worse for purple grapes.

Methinks you should stick to postwork for DOF renders. It's much more effective and smooth, compared to Bryce's abilities, or Vue's. Unless the RPP is up pretty high, Bryce's DOF really detracts from the image. It doesn't look like focus, it looks like fuzz. All that time would have been better spent working on more projects, and if done in post you could have finished this in seven hours, not seven days! Just an idea, going along with your "never again"!

Well worth the patience. Excellent render. Try to use ranged instead of infinite radials (or ranged spotlights, if you want to lit a scene like this they would do great), it reduces the render time a lot, and often the results are even better.

Amazingly delicious! Indeed an excellent render. The DOF looks beautiful, but I do agree about the long render times. Excellent work!
