Description
Dunno exactly which species of tent caterpillars, but they're voracious little buggers. Spotted them nested in some prarie plant while hiking along Dune Trail at Illinois State Beach Park. Tried a couple of times to get their pic and finally the AF on my camera cooperated enough to make a clear image in macro mode (I find the AF to be quite problematic at times, makes me wish this camera had a way to manually focus.) Anyhow, I hope the entomology fans enjoy this pic.
Camera used: Toshiba PDR-M60 digital.
