Description
*The light you've lost
absorbed by shadows of your mind
is takin over the light from your Realm,
cos you've ceased to reckon that
Hope is there to be your soul balm.
In the haze you dwell,
in those doubts you've lost the spell...
But you can always rely on me,
my friend,
to reach the sun
and smile and shine again.*

This is my first entry for the June Theme, and IF the links work (I hope!!!), you are gonna from now on see all the sources I have used for my Photoshop works, along some technical detailing that can be useful for the judgement of people, and for their advicing towards me (I still a beginner, I need all help ;)).
The piece is dedicated to my friend Eleonora, portraited in the scene. The picture was originally taken by me for jrulier to work over, but sadly I took to much of a lightened and blurred picture for him to be useful, and then.. I decided to go my own way with it, because I liked the stance of her :)
Elli, dear.. keep it up and you'll see light back soon.
Lotta love, and enjoy you all (even if this, is not exactly a picture that suggests joy ;) )

this is a stunning atmosphere youve created.. as the viewer its very evident that theres a dark brooding obsession...awsome work ^,,^
Molto intenso e drammatico.Sei grande,Meli :)
Wonderfully contemplative. You can tell that she really has something on her mind...a dilemma of sorts. I love the lighting and the lack thereof. The halo is a nice added effect. Excellent work my friend!...Cheryl
great lighting, great mood, very well done.
Excellent work and I know the feeling you portray all too well...
LOL... you really have a certain effect on people in your surroundings... Excellent image... as usual you impresse me with your creativity...
Outstanding creativity! Excellently combined and very balanced! Her pose and the light show a dramatic mood! Great idea for showing the sources.
Great image! Your is in a constant state of change and that is the way it should be.
It's a shame that by the time you came to use the good old lens flare (not for the first time, I know... I remember you using it before) it had already become a clichamong Photoshop filters sigh :P
I like the restraint, the way you deliberately left the top-right quarter blank and elusive. You avoided oversaturating the composition this way :-)
By the way, your source pic of Elli looks nice, and interesting... I'd like to try something with it if you could let me have the full-size one... hugs :-)
Oh - I think it is perfect! Her back to the source of light....a wonderful portrayal
Very emotionaly picture. Good work
Sorry I missed this Meli, My attendance at renderosity has been poor lately. This is wonderful, I agree with Jim about the lens flare being clich although the design that the effect makes at the bottom right of the image is interesting. Overall it's a super cool composition, and great source photo.
you and Jim are so very right about thelens flare :) I remember bev(or was it jrulier) tellin me this when I used it the first time, in prolly my first ever PS work... I tried for minutes different lens, till I obtained a LIL effect of reflection that was explicative of her state (never thought obsessions are like bubbles of flashy, nois lights that strikes at you, like a Chinese drop of torture? :)), But by the time I'll learn properly how to PAINT the lights in PShop, I promise I'll leave the clichout :) Thank you for appreciating but mostly dear.. thank you for your latest portrait of yourself :) That's SOOOOOOOOOO magnificent :) Hugs :)
Emotional work, excellent game of shadows and lights...
lens flare!?!? s'pose it looks okay here though lol. I avoid that tool like the plague usually - Great work with or without the flare!
Love the light that defines her shape on her right side. She looks lost in a deep depression that not even the hope of light can penitrate.
Beautiful image, but I would have to disagree with the lens flare. :) But hey, thats what makes life interesting, people have different things that they like/hate.
Inspirational

Wonderful composition and great colors! Maybe a bit to dark?
Very gothic. You gain my vote for it.
The thumb is a masterpiece of scale.
I suggest your nice looking friend to relay only on the ones that will help her to survive. It sounds individualist in some ways, but is a good strategy, since we cant relay in the ones that are no up to.
This is an intensely moving image....amazing job...
that's rocks. Belissima immagine, complimenti !
Way to go. Excellent work. Its not always the focus, its always the feeling. I love the balance between the deep black and the lighter parts. Its perfect this way. The open door is a symbolic piece for me. The flares give the nice dept.
So many great pieces - where to start? Here, , because the idea of a negative space appeals to me personally: I tend to think inside out. You have made a most interesing use of blackspace in this piece; it is rewarding to look into: it looks different each time.
Good work...you have a sullen figure which gives the piece a remorseful feel but at the same time there is hope via the doorway to the light.
A wonderful creation splendid like your usual and rich of sensation, great bye bye a kiss Orietta
very nice, interesting mood, projects heaviness of thought, strong cluttered emotions wonder spot in the render was intended to be the focal point? again very nice!
