Description

This is a model that is part of the "Smithsonian Collection" series. It represents the RL 262 that is next to the P-80 in the NASM Washington DC. The Junkers 004 engines, due to the lack of modern alloys, had a scrap life of around 24 hours and while they could burn a coal tar derivitive they were very thirsty and sluggish at low speeds like our jet engines of the period.

I haven't made any models for years but this has certainly rekindled my interest. Nice work.
