Post work (reduction, border): Ulead PhotoImpact 8
StrataCafe had another challenge.. this time to creae a sort of MYst"-like puzzle/game piece.
So, I made on of those ancient boxes you'd turn in squence in order for something to happen when you did it right, using the "Myst" feel to it.
Didn't win, but this was lots of fun.

wow, this thing is really beautiful!
When I first saw this most excellent creation Howie, I was instantly reminded of the series of horror films "Hellraiser" - that besides the fame of 'Pinhead' featured such "Myst-like Game Cubes". I personally find your design far more appealing than those from the films because the outer appearance suggests the true complicated mechanism that such cubes represent. Another thing I like about this impressive creation are the needle-like points on the outer edges which would certainly hamper anyone's attempts at unlocking the mysteries of this mechanical marvel. I adore the rough metallic surface of the cube itself and the tiny cube divisions. This may not have won Howie (although it SHOULD have) - but it is certainly getting my vote here. Bravo my friend, an impressive render!
