Description
They had walked out of the data center and headed for control to carry out their orders.
"A hot zone." The longer hair pilot grinned. "That's going to be some interesting flying in there."
"Interesting?" The Robot before her gasped out. "That's potential suicide." It paused for a moment. "I think I should decline this assignment."
"Dirs-42," The red accented female by its side exclaimed suddenly. "We are not a committee here."
"But we are individuals. The Robot returned. "We have lives."
"And we dedicated our lives to this operation, and part of our parameters have changed now. We serve something greater than ourselves."
"This is madness, and for something that has yet to be confirmed."
"That is our job." She smiled. "We are going to confirm."
"Dirs-8 sent the signals." The short hair pilot added from the back.
"Well," The Robot threw its hands up dramatically. "That explains a lot. Dirs-8 is always erratic." It turned its head to look in her direction. "And that explains a lot too."
"Yes." She tilted her head. "A design flaw in the Dirs units."
The Robots face plate flashed brightly for a moment.
"Besides that." She raised her hands, palms up. "You have a life, but a big part of that life is we serve a greater purpose." She smiled broadly. "And as a part of this team; You have no choice."
"Life isn't fair." The Robot dropped its arms to its sides.
"It's going to be an interesting adventure." The short haired pilot glanced aver at the other. They both broke into large smiles.
