Description
(Nena's "hooray" was so affirming, I decided to make mine about affirming gifts, for loved ones. All conjuring a "hooray".)
1) My only finished watercolor.
Gave it to my father before my mother passed. It picked up his spirit; my sister and I gave a big hooray!
2) "Treasures from My Grandmother".
When my grandmother passed, we couldn't find her keepsakes.
So I ccreated this.
Her daughters (Mom and my aunt) said, "Hooray! You found them!"
3) An aged document.
My uncle lost a 19th C document. So I made this for his birthday. He said, "Hooray---you found it!"
(The decay is pencil: It's not real!)
4) A tapestry from the Andes.
My sister was very ill, and she loved folk art. So I bought her this "arpillera" from Peru. She loved it. (A hooray...)
5) Finally, an old cartoon (by me). Just peace and happiness. That's always worth a hooray...
Thanks for stopping by! m

Once again, wonderful work—and with the accompanying text, you prove yourself a true master of explanation. I believe you could point to a rock, and your marvelous thoughts would find a reason why that very stone fits a "hooray." Simply delightful, as always—both the images and the text.
oh thank you, I really appreciate it---sometimes I fear sometimes that my text will be tedious or boring (like, "get on with it, Mark!") esp when I've been in bed for a few days! I really appreciate that you liked it, vielen Dank! (or as one deutsch student put it, years ago, "vielen Danke schön sehr gut!" I assume that's f---d up!)
(You mentioned Yes-Törtchen"! I looked it up: There was really a popular mini-cake called "Yes-Törtchen"? Wow. So if you don't like someone, did you give them "Nein-Törtchen"? Or, if you really disliked them, "F--kdich-Törtchen"? "Verp--ss-dichTörtchen"? I hope I spelled those right! I don't swear a lot in Deutsch, though you guys got some great words...)
