Description
A wild category for today: Stinky.
Here's my entry. Just imagine that plant smelling really awful...(Drawn just now. Sorry for the poor photo!)
As for my non-themed entries, a Chinese tribute:
1) My sole effort at traditional Chinese silk painting, painted years ago. The Chinese put trees and people in theirs...but I was doing my first one, so I did mountains. (Chinese ink stick, with brush.) (And real silk---that stuff is expensive!)
Go to a museum and look at the great silk paintings: They mount them with slik, brocade, more silk...They're gorgeous.
But. It takes 12 to 15 years to learn it. These things are rolled up and kept in special boxes. It's an art to itself.
(When you draw "in the style" of others, you feel very close to them. I was very grateful, in the end...)
2) A rock drawing. (Felt pens.)
Drawn from a 17th Century Chinese manual: The Mustard Seed Garden Manual of Painting---a beautiful, beautiful book. I drew from their "rock" section, but made mine heavier (just to learn).
Thanks for stopping by, once more. Have a fine day.
(ps---see all that "aging" in the silk painting? I did that with inks...I didn't have 500 years, so I faked decay...it was actually really fun...try it sometime, it's liberating to "ruin" your own work)
