In Germany, after 80 years, a debate is once again underway regarding who is allowed to be German and live here. After decades of getting along well, a wedge is now being driven between us; attempts are being made to incite us against one another, to assign varying "worth" to people, and to seize the power to define what is German and what is not.
Indeed, there are people among us who want to have roughly a quarter of the German population deported—simply because they deny their German identity and insist on defining "German" themselves!
Just imagine being in those people's shoes: fleeing, being hounded, and facing a campaign of hatred.
