Took a short while, but it's been well worth it. 3 generations of the same iconic car under the same roof. Stay tuned (pun intended) to find out who the cars' owners are.

Neat Garage Scene....
You have a great lineup of these RX7's in the garage, having owned the first, and second generation of these RX7's I know how fun they were to drive. I never got to own the third generation which for me would have been a 1993 RX7 FD...its like the fish that got away and I regret not buying one when I had the chance.
You have an excellent garage scene and I commend you for how nice it looks...I am a rotary fan and this scene is perfect! :)
What were they like to maintain? I read somewhere that rotaries operated better at higher revs, completely opposite to piston engines.

To answer your question on how easy the 1st and 2nd generation RX7's were to maintain...they were very easy and required no additional work other than checking the oil to make sure it was not low regularly, as these rotary engines use some of the crankcase oil in order to lubricate the apex seals on the rotary engine. There is nothing like a high revving Mazda engine with a 9000 RPM redline while going through the gears. High revs on these engines tends to keep the carbon buildup off the apex seals on the rotary engine.
Unfortunately the lifespan of these apex seals was considered short in comparison to the piston driven rings on normal combustion engines. These early cars did not have to deal with the excessive demands of todays smog requirements in the California state. I still have a 2005 RX-8 that I plan to put back on the road after not driving it for more than 10 years. (its been in storage and its now time to put it back on the road)
