Description
Looking down from the Eiffel Tower as the Seine winds downstream through Paris, one sees the Île aux Cygnes (Isle of Swans). This man made island was created in 1825 to protect nearby bridges from river currents. The long narrow island is a popular park for pedestrian visitors. If you look carefully at the tip of the island you will see a small replica of the Statue of Liberty that France gave to the United States.
