We’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad. Have some tea? Date Published: August 17, 2026 I’ve been working on this scene for literal weeks. Granted, I worked on it off and on over the course of those two or three weeks, but that’s still a LOT. Most of that time was spent figuring out exactly how to pull this scene off and then arranging the many, many props in just the right places. I also had to decide how to pose each of the characters in a fun, mad way then actually do the posing. Oh, I also had to create (or in some cases, vastly update) all of the characters. The Cheshire Cat is based on an almost 20-year-old model that I was able to update with new shaders, textures, sub-division, and more. Even after I got everything on the table figured out and arranged, then the characters finished and posed, I still needed to figure out the background setting. I had planned on adding various colorful flowers and mushrooms but those all took away from the tea party. Can’t have that! So, that’s why it is the way it is. The focal length/perspective on the camera is only 15mm to give it a truly trippy, mad look and feel. Once I decided on what needed to be done, postwork only took about an hour or less to do. Even though it took so long to do, this was a fun scene to create. I may do more renders of this scene from different angles and such. I haven’t decided yet what I should create next for my Wonderland series. I have some commercial project work to do before I start on the next scene, so I’ve got time to think about it and come up with something special.
