Description
The first time I saw these birds was a wonderful moment for me. They are so beautiful. Their voice is very distinctive. I heard something that sounded like a rattling noise, and when I looked up, there they were: three white birds with beautiful black eyes and matching beaks. Later, I learned that they are endemic to Oahu and protected by law. You can receive a five-figure fine if you disturb them. The name MANU-O-KU means bird of Ku (The Hawaiian god of war). I didn't have my camera with me that day, but on the last day of my trip, I managed to get this picture.
