Herbert and Gladys were taking their grandson Dennis on a little train trip. Their adopted late-in-life daughter Tiffany, a single mother who had stayed out too late the night before, got up late and arrived at the small station without having bought the tickets. Apparently, even in a toony world, family problems are still a thing. Tiffany was still at the ticket office while Herbert boarded with Dennis, trying to keep the little rascal under control. Gladys stayed on the platform, desperately trying to keep the train from leaving, while Alfred, the proud engine driver, happily waved from his cab, cheerfully oblivious to the chaos unfolding behind him. Some things, apparently, are universal, even in cartoons.
