starlings are considered pests in some countries....
They can be a bit noisy, but for the most part I don't see them causing too much trouble here :)

i just googled- starlings are not native to Canada and are considered an invasive species...
I did a search and you are right, they do consider the starlings quite a concern for crowding out other wildlife especially since they don't really belong being an invasive species and all. Especially concerning in farming areas, little less in the cities. I guess I never considered them too much of a pest because they didn't SEEM to be too much of a nuisance but they are indeed a threat to the wildlife and crops so I guess that would slot them under the category of pest.
