Description
Gavik had been escorted through the vessel by warriors who wore hooded cloaks, concealing their identities from him. They dispatched him to a small conference room and stepped out.
"Welcome." The tall, slender being exclaimed as they stared at one another.
"What is the meaning of this?" Gavik bellowed angrily. "Hooded warriors are a severe dishonor!"
"Ah." The Being responded with a smile and a nod of his head. "From one with no honor."
"And you insult me!"
"Facts." The Being raised his hands.
"Where is the Council?"
"Yes. That." The Being indicated to the empty chairs. "They are not willing to endanger their identities in an associated engagement with you, should this little operation fail." He stepped back and indicated out the bay windows. Gavik moved slowly, but curiously across the room. He stared out at the distant D-7 class cruiser before him.
"They're not going to risk an advanced class vessel in your hands."
"That's out of date."
"It has been heavily upgraded." The Being smiled. "It works this way. All communications and interactions will go through me. They will not interact with you directly. Too much risk." He turned and moved back to the table and sat down. We have a lot to go through." He then indicated to a seat across from him. "Please."
"I take this goes beyond tracking down Navarre?"
"Much further." The Being sighed heavily. "Of Navarre, the Council has no concern. That is all upon you, But to achieve that goal. You need the assets the Council is offering, and all that comes with a price."
"What price?" Gavik was confused.
"Navarre has possession of assets and data that the Council wants removed from existence." The Being hesitated for a moment and leaned closer. "Asides from the reward of avenging yourself, completing this assignment could also regain your honor."
Gavik paused, staring at the being in silence for several seconds.
"So, assets first, and then Navarre. Or?"
"Every Klingon vessel will be targeted on you."

Now there's a new twist! This Council sounds dangerous. And just what assets and data is so important to them....
a secret council can't be good, and they feel threatened.
An offer he can't refuse - excellent chapter in the story!
thank you so much. goals, a prize, and a reward all in one.
