"Julia." Avarris drew a slow deep breath. "May I interrupt your routine for a moment." "What's up?" Julia shifted to a warm greeting. "I have been watching you." Avarris smiled. "You split your time into multiple shifts to accommodate the crew shifts." "Everyone still has to eat." Julia chuckled. "And it's better than those ration packets you all were living on." "No argument about that." Avarris grinned, thinking about the ration packets. "I was considering a proposition for you; something for you to consider." "Interesting." Julia smiled curiously. "What are you considering?" "I am visually useless here. I have no ship board skills really. But I can cook; not on your level certainly. But would you consider taking on an apprentice and assistant in learning?" "You want to work under me in the galley?" Julia was stunned by what she was hearing. "Everyone has something to do here." She frowned softly. "Except me. I want to be useful as well." Julia considered the request quietly. Such an opportunity would allow her even more access to the happenings of this vessel and crew.
