I think there's 3 possibilities:
1 - The entire universe is nothing but boring rocks, boring gas and nasty radiation.
2 - The universe is full of unimaginable stuff far stranger than unicorns, fairies and vampires.
3 - The universe is somewhere between 1 and 2 ;-)
