Although some considered the Magpie to be vermin, they are strikingly beautiful birds & one of my favorites.

It happened that once, while walking in forest, a squirrel was chased by a magpie until he went on another tree. I guess he went too close of the nest with the eggs - or even with already born babies. The bird wasn't happy and all the forest around knew it :)
