Description
For his eighth labor, Hercules was tasked with capturing the man-eating mares of King Diomedes of Thrace. These savage horses were fed on human flesh, making them uncontrollable and deadly. Hercules overcame their master first, feeding Diomedes to his own beasts, which finally calmed them enough for him to bind and bring them away as living proof of his triumph over barbarity.
