Description
Anyone who has followed my gallery for any lenght of time knows that I'm fond of mythological subjects. I particularly like Yoruban mythology because most of the artwork done is sculptural. There are a lot of masks, but very few paintings or drawings, which gives you a lot of artistic license when dealing with the subject.
This is the forest Oriche, "Aja". He is god of forests, healing, and storms. I really emjoyed soing this one.
