__ ...I took these photos last year at the second gathering of the Steampunk French aficionados in one of the museums of Mulhouse (Alsace) famous for its international collection of vintage steam engines, "La Cité du Train" (Train City). I couldn't believe my eyes seeing so many fanatics dressed in various zany uniforms and costumes labeled 'steampunk', ambling and chatting among prestigious and colossal locomotive engines, and above all, talking to the visitors about their interest in the Steampunk movement.
__Almost totally alien to this movement, I really had a good time immersing myself into this beautiful museum and among these people, interacting with some of them to get to know more about the history of that movement whose first trailblazers and spiritual fathers were allegedly Jules Verne and H.G. Wells...

Outre le plaisir de regarder ces superbes photos, je découvre, avec quelque étonnement, je dois le dire, cette manifestation, fort sympathique. Qu'il y ait des admirateurs de Jules Vernes, je n'en suis pas surpris mais qu'ils aillent jusque la, c'est de l'amour ! En outre, ils sont très "réalistes" !

You know, if last year Rendo didn't do a contest about Steampunk, I'm not sure I had put my nose into. Then, after the scene I had done, I felt the need to understand more the style and found a lot online.

Tu as superbement bien capturé ces amateurs de steampunk. J'ai même souris en voyant le fameux flot alsacien à la mode steampunk. C'est un mouvement original qui offre libre cours à l'imagination mais je ne le connais que de très loin ! Ce genre de rassemblement me fait penser aux cosplayers que j'ai aperçu à l'événement Metz Torii il y a quelques années :-) En tous cas, il faudra que je visite le fameux musée du train et le musée de l'automobile des frères Schlumpf à Mulhouse :-) Ca fait du bien de voir des photos dans ta galerie ! I couldn't stop looking at these interesting photos, plus the explanations behind them. No idea that steampunk goes back to Jule Verne. The first photo in particular is really 'crazy', so special, indescribable, so fantastic, I would have loved to have been there. Thank you so much for sharing
