She has bottles inherited from her mother of a very reliable fermenting bacterial culture, the fermentation juice, that has the advantage of taking over any other ground microbes. She knows how to reproduce these useful bacteria. She makes as many jars of fermented pickles as possible; this is her main marketable produce. She inherited about 2000 empty jars with lids from her mother; her brother is providing about 60 empty jars with lids a year and 20 extra new lids. She sells between 1000 and 2000 filled jars to the merchant who rent the business from her brother and she buy-back empty jars and their lids from the same merchant. He is selling these jars of fermented pickles with profits to the villagers, and he buy-back empty and cleaned such jars with their lids. The twins make some money from that product, money used for some luxuries like some variety of cheese not provided by her brother and some tree fruits like apples.
