Upon first view, this looks like a tidal waver and certain doom upon what looks like an island in the distance. Many times in 3ds Max I attempted to create this type of wave by modeling it but was never successful enough to make it look realistic.
This type of wave looks a lot like the one Bodhi "Patrick Swayze" surfed in his last scene with Johnny Utah "Keanu Reeves" in the movie Point Break. I believe that final movie scene took place in your neck of the woods down in Australia my friend. This movie is absolutely one on my favorites to watch at least every few years.
This wave just may be a surfers final wish come true...to surf the biggest wave possible and to survive it! Awesome job Steff, it's a favorite with me for sure! :-)
