Description
After a few more test, I think I got a something closer to what I was trying to do.
The original problem was that the Toon shader node only rendered light intensity, completely ignoring lighting color. That was apparently changed in Cycles at some point, but it still wasn't quite what I wanted. Tweaking the specular settings and lighting did a little better.
This time I added a render with my usual shaders for comparison.
