As a child, I was always creeped out by films that featured skulls, and also by medieval woodcuts and drawings of all kinds that dealt with death, for example; I always had a certain "respect" for them. From time to time, when someone in my circle has passed away, I process such losses in my own way, to remember who these people were, rather than what becomes of them, although that is, of course, an unavoidable part of all our lives. Death can come so quickly and unexpectedly; sometimes it's enough if you're just about to park your car and drive away and suddenly the wrong people appear.
