Looks brand new too. So many thoughts come to mind. And why leave it there. But I know this much for sure. I carry bolt cutters in my Jeep. I can have that off of there in two seconds flat. LOL. Cool and mysterious picture!

I also carry bolt cutters, though tend not to use them on other people's locks. Maybe a wide angle shot could help give clues on why it is there? Close off a driveway, or keep a really big dog leashed up in the park for a bit. There does look to be atleast 12-15 feet worth of chain there from what can be seen. And as Zig said, this pic triggers a bit of curiosity, which is so much more interesting.
Thank you! It's a tree in the park and it was just chain and a lock, I didn't see anything nearby. Which was why I had to take a photo of it, it was just such a mystery it being there
