Max you know I don't like to "Set up dramatic action" and tell. I leave it up to the viewer. If it helps you sleep at night I'll say that there was a good chance that shadowy archer behind the big man was probably able to put him off his current action long enough for the fight to continue and give the young lady a chance to do up her hair, and try a different strategy ... running away might be advised ;^)
Well, your dramatic action always keeps me in a state of worry as to what horrible fate awaits me if I was the depicted character ;-)
